LINE for Chrome is a messaging app that gives you a new and fun way to send messages to other people. If you ever used Facebook Messenger before, you already know what to expect from this one. It is very similar to the Facebook app but acts as an alternative that allows you to message people who don't use that site. They just need to be online to read your messages and send responses back. The app works with most versions of Windows, too.

Loading LINE for Chrome shows you a list of all of your friends on the left. You can see their name and photo along with the last message sent. When you click on their name/photo, the app loads your message chain. This lets you see all of the messages you exchanged with them. It is free to use the messaging app to send texts to people in more than 200 countries. Thanks to the range of stickers, you can add a fun touch to your texts. Choose from both unique stickers you won't find anywhere else and classic emojis.

Thanks to the Group Chat feature, you can keep track of different groups and send messages to each one. Why not set up a dedicated group for family members where you can share memories and talk about an upcoming reunion? You can create another group for people from work or school and one for your friends. The app allows you to send photos, too. You just need to click on the name of the person and then attach the photo to your message.

If you need to keep track of memos and write notes for yourself, you'll also find LINE for Chrome useful. When you click on the memos option, the app lets you create a new one and view those you made in the past. This is an easy way to keep track of things you need to do in the future or jot down some of the ideas you have. Both your messages and memos can hold photos of up to 1 GB in size.

To make money, the developers of LINE for Chrome added some ads. While there aren't a lot of ads, you'll usually see a few every time you use it. It also limits some of the stickers you can add if you have the free version. The only way to unlock the entire sticker collection is with an upgrade to the premium version.
